Felix Gato Peralta is a Chicano singer-songwriter, guitarist, accordionist, and harmonica player from New Mexico. He blends traditional corridos, Matachines rhythms, Southwest blues, zydeco, and cumbia to honor his ancestral journey. A dedicated cultural educator and community leader, Felix uses music as a pathway for healing generational trauma and keeping Hispano and Nuevo Mexicano traditions alive. He has performed at the Kennedy Center’s Arts Across America, been featured in PBS documentaries, and is a 2026 516 ARTS Fulcrum Fund grantee.
I’m here to archive, to pass down, and to help keep what remains of a culture that’s slowly fading. I am a cultural bearer of sound and art — a gatherer of salt, a peregrino of hard times, floods, crying, incarceration, and broken homes. I’m an educator, a community leader, and a student of the world.
